Seldom warm.

For the February issue of Chicago Magazine picture editor, Brittney Blair asked me to photograph contemporary dance group, The Seldoms. Their recent work has them collaborating with boutique fashion designer, Lara Miller who conceived of their post-apocalyptic performance apparel. Kudos to these four hearty dancers who braved -10 degree temperatures INSIDE an unheated Chinatown warehouse and collaborated with me to make this picture.
PS Thank you, Carrie Hanson for the donuts and hot coffee!

Photo Assistant Bootcamp

Baring flight delays on Saturday March 7, I will be part of an APA Midwest (Advertising Photographers of America) Photo Assistant Boot camp. It's an interactive panel discussion hosted by Columbia College for current and aspiring photo assistants who will learn how to get in, or stay in "the business". Come to hear what I, and three other experienced assistants and photographers have to say. More information on the APA Midwest website.

They grow up so fast.

I made a new self-promo picture shot on the rough-and-tumble "West Siyd!" It's a continuation in a series all staring kids called, Children Under the Influence. I promise you. Their parents are always present.

Reptiles 'R' Us

Today, my studio took on the look of a reptile petting zoo.
We had no fewer than 6 gigantic pythons and one alligator gracing
our presence. I'm continuing a personal series about children, and
needed a large, healthy snake.
The snakes were gorgeous and so gentle. I recommend you try one on some time.
Much thanks to Angela Finney for her styling collaboration, and
Chicago Hepetological Society for making snakes possible.

Me and Phantom, the 80 pound Albino Burmese Python.

The picture I like best, though not the biggest snake.
